Close to 25,000 Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the state, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Residents witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, approximately one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its wettest day in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 calls for help across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

- Wyndham area - nearly 180 emergency requests
During the peak on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the region.
