Similar to bad weather tore through the northern region the previous evening, Manchester City swept Manchester United aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three-nil win for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their championship potential as they consolidated their standing at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for Manchester United

This result marked successive Women's Super League defeats for Skinner's side for the first time since May 2024, putting them a sizable gap off the top team with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.
